IDST began as a sketchbook: a collection of thoughts, materials and imagined atmospheres. Today, it is a Dubai based interior design studio led by Hana Akram, grounded in curiosity, strong narrative and material sensitivity.

IDST is a Dubai-based interior design studio led by Founder and Design Director Hana Akram, working across hospitality, F&B, residential and retail projects throughout the GCC. Recognised on the AD100 2026 list of leading designers in the Middle East and North Africa, the studio creates spaces with strong identity, material depth and a clear sense of place.

Akram's background in Interior Design and Fine Arts, together with a decade of experience across the region, informs IDST's approach to composition, materiality and storytelling. Her creative direction balances artistic instinct with the functional and operational demands of each project.

The studio’s approach is carried through by a multidisciplinary team of designers, technical specialists, visualisers and project managers, working collaboratively from concept through to completion. Spatial planning, materiality, furniture, art and intricate details are considered as one composition, responding to context, brand, operations and, ultimately, the people who experience the space.
